FAQ
DFX is one token for every verified USDT lost in Drift's April incident. It's a standard SPL token on Solana, freely transferable and tradable on Raydium like any other. Supply is fixed at one DFX per verified USDT of loss, and no new DFX will ever be minted.
Project 0's Drift banks are the DFX claimant (through each bank's liquidity vault authority), so Project 0 claims that DFX and distributes it in proportion to each person's Drift-related loss. If part of the loss was socialized to you, you also receive DFX in proportion to your socialization. There's enough DFX for Project 0 to make every affected user whole in DFX terms, counting 1 DFX as 1 USDT.
Yes, you have until October 2027 to claim. After that, unclaimed DFX goes back to Project 0.
You redeem DFX for USDT yourself; Project 0 only distributes the DFX. Each DFX redeems for the Recovery Pool balance divided by the outstanding DFX supply. The pool holds about 3.1M USDT today, so redemption is limited for now, and it's topped up every day at 00:00 UTC.
Drift's Recovery Dashboard shows the pool balance, outstanding supply and redemption amount in real time. See Drift's DFX claim and redemption update.
- Net protocol revenue: every day at 00:00 UTC, a share of Velocity's net protocol revenue flows into the pool in USDT, until it has received the full amount of verified losses.
- Tether: up to 127.5M USDT committed to support the relaunch and user recovery.
- Partners: up to 20M USDT committed by strategic partners for user recovery.
- Recovered funds: any stolen funds recovered through a freeze, the bounty or law enforcement go into the pool.
